GlobalConnect appoints Soile Hammargård as CEO of Finland

GlobalConnect today announces the appointment of Soile Hammargård as the new CEO of Finland for GlobalConnect Oy, effective June 1, 2026. Originally from Finland, Soile currently serves as VP Procurement & Supply Chain Management at GlobalConnect and brings extensive leadership experience from international telecom companies, including several senior roles at Telia Company.

Hammargård will lead GlobalConnect’s Finnish Consumer organization at a time of continued expansion in the market. Over the last year, the Group has invested more than 85 million euros to strengthen Finland’s digital infrastructure. Finland has emerged as one of GlobalConnect’s key growth markets, driven by rapid fiber expansion and increasing customer demand.

She has been deeply involved in scaling our Finnish business since 2023, from supplier selection for the network rollout to supporting the rapid growth of the organization. She brings deep insight into the Finnish market and solid leadership experience from international arenas,” says Charlotta Rehman, EVP, B2C, GlobalConnect.

Soile will lead one of Finland’s largest fiber operators, which expanded its fiber network to more than 100,000 homes passed in 2025. The number of connected households increased to 29,000 and the company has deployed fiber infrastructure across 45 cities and municipalities.

During her time at GlobalConnect, Hammargård has established a modern procurement and supply chain organization with stronger strategic capabilities, improved commercial management, and closer collaboration across markets and business units.

Prior to joining GlobalConnect in 2022, she held several senior sourcing and strategy leadership roles at Telia Company and Skanova (now Telia Sweden Infra), bringing extensive experience from procurement, commercial management and telecom infrastructure development.

Hammargård succeeds Helena Bergstrand, who has decided to accept an external leadership role and will therefore be leaving the company. Soile will be based primarily out of GlobalConnect’s office in Helsinki.
