GlobalConnect appoints Marie-Josée Leblond as new Group CIO

Leading Nordic digital infrastructure and connectivity provider GlobalConnect appoints Marie-Josée Leblond as its new Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). Leblond previously served as Vice President, Head of User Experience Services at Tietoevry and will start her new position at GlobalConnect on October 2, 2023.

“Marie-Josée brings a blend of international experience, innovation, and a truly customer-centric approach as our new CIO, leading our IT department across the group. Being in such an exciting stage of our growth and development journey, her forward-thinking approach is perfectly timed. I’m very excited to welcome her to the GlobalConnect family, to continue elevating and lifting our IT strategy and execution to the next level,” says Per Morten Torvildsen, Executive Vice President, NetCo.

During her tenure at Tietoevry, Leblond held several senior roles before ascending to Head of User Experience Services. These roles included leading Banking-as-a-Service Engineering and Business Unit Energy Utilities. Previously, Leblond dedicated 25 years to Ericsson, holding prominent positions such as Head of Product Line Unified Data Management and Head of Solution Area Support Processes and IT Platforms. While her journey with Ericsson began in Montreal, Canada — her hometown — it eventually brought her to Stockholm, where she resides today.

“Embarking on this journey to shape Global Connect's technological landscape and drive its digital transformation strategy, fills me with a profound mix of excitement and determination. I am eager to collaborate with professionals who share my passion for harnessing the power of technology to better serve our customers,” says new Group CIO, Marie-Josée Leblond.

Leblond holds a Master of Business Administration from HEC Montreal, a Bachelor of Engineering from Polytechnique Montreal, and has also completed Executive Education Programs at Northeastern University and MIT. She will be a part of the Executive Leadership Team and report to Executive Vice President, NetCo, Per Morten Torvildsen.
